Ana Vidovic & Xuefei Yang

For the first time, leading female classical guitari virtuosos Ana Vidovic and Xuefei Yang will be sharing the stage for one special evening at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre, Los Angeles on Saturday, September 28th 6:30 PM. Proceeds from ticket sales go towards scholarships for classical guitar students.

Ana Vidovic who comes from the small town of Karlovac near Zagreb, Croatia now resides in the United States. Her extraordinary talent landed her first place at numerous international competitions, including the prestigious Albert Augustine International competition, the Fernando Sor competition, and the Francisco Tarrega competition. Her reputation in Europe eventually led to an invitation to study with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory where she graduated in 2005. Ana_Vidovic_Guitar.jpg

Ana's extraordinary talent landed her first place at numerous international competitions, including the prestigious Albert Augustine International competition, the Fernando Sor competition, and the Francisco Tarrega competition. Her reputation in Europe eventually led to an invitation to study with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory where she graduated in 2005. Ana has recorded 6 albums, and filmed 2 DVDs as far.

Xuefei Yang was the first-ever guitarist in China to enter a music school, & became the first internationally recognised Chinese guitarist on the world stage. Her debut in Madrid at the age of 14 was attended by the composer Joaquín Rodrigo and, when John Williams heard her play, he gave two of his own instruments to Beijing’s Central Conservatoire especially for her and other advanced students. She has made many acclaimed recordings for major labels, with her first receiving a gold disc & her second being selected as ‘Editor’s Choice’ in Gramophone magazine.
