One of most nostalgic compositions written by Argentine composer Ástor Piazzolla in October 1959. At the time Piazzolla was on a tour of Central America when he received news of the death of his father, Vicente Piazzolla, due to a bicycle accident. This fatal incident led Piazzolla to depression and economic problems. Fe days after father's death in New York at family's temporary residence Piazolla composed Adios Nonino as a tribute to his father,. It was based on "Nonino", another tango Astor had composed few years earlier in Paris.
