Second most important work (after Requiem) by French composer Gabriel Fauré written in 1887. Originally written for piano , but better known as Faure's version for orchestra and optional chorus. The title is taken after sixteenth century court dance, performed in pairs, often as part of a wedding procession. Pavanne Op. 50 in original F-sharp minor key at slow, delicate tempo is perfect example of relaxing classical music piece.
