The most famous composition by Spanish composer and virtuoso of classical guitar Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909), which today is the most played solo in the guitar repertoire. Tárrega composed it in 1896 after visiting the Alhambra in Granada while under the patronage of a wealthy widow, Conxa Martínez.
