In following years Roland Dyens has continued his career of pedagogue and performer, and is widely recognized as a consumate interpreter, arranger and composer. He was a guest in various festivals and prestigious events, toured all over the world. In addition to his many live concerts, Roland Dyens made regular radio and television appearances. His master classes and guitar workshops were very highly regarded.
His published compositions and arrangements have been received enthusiastically, and place him among the most innovative and complete musicians of his generation.
Roland Dyens died of lung cancer in Paris, October 29, 2016, 10 days after his 61st birthday.
He was way too young to die.

This is so hard to believe. The world of classical guitar lost one of its major figures, French guitarist and composer Roland Dyens.
He was only 61. Hopefully his work will inspire future composers to continue to write for the guitar.
