Ioana Gandrabur

Born blind in Bucharest, Romania, Ioana Gandrabur was a very musical child and started to play piano at the age of five.
At the age of twelve she was introduced to the guitar instrument and after 2 years only she won the Romanian National Guitar Competition in the adult category.
2 years later with her family Ioana moved to Canada where she continued guitar study at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal and graduated with honors.
Soon she received full scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service, and continued her musical education at the Musikhochschule in Köln (germany) with Hubert Käppel, the Musikakademie in Basel (Switzerland) with Oscar Ghiglia and the Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf (Germany) with Joaquin Clerch.
Ioana won sevral guitar competitions and numerous prizes including such prestigious competition like "Joaquin Rodrigo" (Spain) and "Guitar Foundation of America".
Above all Ioana Gandrabur is very warm human being, incredibly talented in many areas. She speaks six languages, is often invited as a teacher and motivational speaker.
