The world's most commercially successful solo electric guitarist, Joe Satriani is also the biggest-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time. He is a 15-time Grammy Award nominee and has sold over 10 million albums. Satriani released six gold and platinum albums. As a live performer, Satriani has toured the world with each new release. He joined Deep Purple as a temporary replacement for Ritchie Blackmore during a Japanese tour. In 1996. Satriani also founded the multi-guitarist traveling experience called G3, which has seen him share stages with Vai, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Robert Fripp, among many others. Satriani mention Jimi Hendrix, Brian May, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, and Jeff Beck as his main influences.
