During their first 10 years as a band, INXS played in small pubs and at modest-size venues across Australia and the United States. But the sixth studio album "Kick", released in 1987 made INXS international superstars. It was sold in 20 million copies worldwide, has been certified platinum six times. Four singles off the album reached the Top 10 in the U.S. The sales of next album "X" were disappointing when compared to Kick. In 1997, lead singer and main lyricist Michael Hutchence died from suicide and INXS remained rather quiet throughout the following years and they did not approach success from late 80s and 90s ever. The band played often during the nest years, but at the end of 2012 announced that they weren't going to tour anymore. INXS has sold over 60 million records worldwide.
