American progressive metal band Dream Theater was founded in Boston, in 1985, by fellow Berklee College of Music students John Petrucci (guitar), John Myung (bass) and Mike Portnoy (drums). In 1992 they released 'Images and Words" album and the song from the album “Pull Me Under” became a hit for Dream Theater and still is the biggest of their career. In 2010 longtime band leader Mike Portnoy departed from the band. Remaining lineup with help from new drummer Mike Mangini still prospers today and Dream Theater's progressive metal supremacy still relatively unchallenged. Dream Theater has sold over 12 million records worldwide and has received two Grammy Award nominations.
