Artist info
Belgian-born French guitarist Django Reinhardt (1910 - 1952) became a legend even during his lifetime. He was a child prodigy who by age 10 was playing the violin, banjo and guitar at a high technical level. With violinist Stéphane Grappelli, Reinhardt formed Quintette du Hot Club de France in 1934, one of the first groups to play jazz that featured the guitar as a lead instrument. Django was playing guitar using only the first two fingers (his third finger and fourth finger were badly burned). During his career Django Reinhardt wrote nearly 100 songs. Over sixty years after his death, Django Reinhardt is still hip and in style.
