Before Coldplay name established for London based rock band formed in 1996 first it was Pectoralz, then Starfish. Coldplay earned worldwide attention with the release of the song "Yellow" in 2000. Their fourth studio album, "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends" was the best-selling album worldwide of 2008. Coldplay have won nine Brit Awards, six MTV Video Music Awards, seven MTV Europe Music Awards and seven Grammy Awards. Coldplay became widely known in the media for giving 10 per cent of the band's profits to charity.
