Formed in 1993 by guitarist Alexi "Wildchild" Laiho and drummer Jaska Raatikainen "Inearthed" extreme metal band acquired "Chikldren of Bodom" name from unsolved murder that took place in Finland at Lake Bodom in 1960. Four teenagers camping by the lake were brutally attacked in their tent by an unknown assailant; three died by stabbing and bludgeoning, while the fourth, Nils Gustafsson, survived despite suffering severe injuries.
