Rare footage of Rory Gallagher and Taste trio performing live at at the Isle Of Wight Festival 1970. The 1970 festival was by far the largest of these early festivals with estimates of over 600,000 gathering. The line up was really impressive and included such artists as Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, The Doors, The Who, Lighthouse, Ten Years After, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Joni Mitchell, The Moody Blues, Donovan, Gilberto Gil, Free, Chicago, Richie Havens, Leonard Cohen, Jethro Tull, Rory Gallagher with Taste and Tiny Tim. Due to high attendance level, in 1971, the Parliament added a section to the Isle of Wight County Council Act 1971 preventing overnight open-air gatherings of more than 5,000 people on the island without a special licence from the council.
