There are 2 basic versions of the famous 1967' song "All Along the Watchtower". First by the author, Bob Dylan recorded on his 1967' album John Wesley Harding and second, possibly more famous - a cover by Jimi Hendrix first recorded for Electric Ladyland with the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1968.
Years later Dylan siad about Jimi's cover: "He had such talent, he could find things inside a song and vigorously develop them. He found things that other people wouldn't think of finding in there.".
After almost 50 years "All Along the Watchtower" is still fresh covered by next generations of guitarists and vocalists.
This version was recorded by the Allman Brothers at the Orpheum Theater, Boston, MA, March 2011.
Allman Brothers has 2 great guitarists, Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes. But this is usually Warren who sings songs. Whatever, it's always great to see them both sharing sam stage, playing magically their guitars
