This is Mark's version of the Last Post call dedicated to 17,000 Northumberland Fusiliers killed in the First World War, recorded for the World War One centenary project.
"The Last Post" project commissioned by Superact will see 200 free commemorative events held in communities across the UK from 4th to 18th November.
Born in Glasgow, but raised up in Blyth, Northumberland, Knopfler dedicated this performance to his hometown regiment who suffered more casualties in the First World War then any other.
