Former member of legendary group Cream, bassist and vocalist Jack Bruce has died today of liver disease at his home in Suffolk surrounded by his family.
Born in Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1944 Bruce was studying cello at Royal Scottish Academy of Music but dropped it to play jazz. Soon he became bassist in Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated band and Graham Bond Organization.
In 1966 he became a member of of Manfred Mann. Soon he joined John Mayall's Bluesbreakers where he met Eric Clapton first time. Same 1966 year Bruce, Clapton and Ginger Baker formed Cream, but they disbanded in 1968 after recording four albums, and such hits as "Sunshine of Your Love" and "White Room".
In 2005 The Cream reunited to play full concert at Royal Albert Hall, London.
