George Benson at the age of 35 (now he's 70) playing soft tune titled "El Mar" for Musikladen Extra, Radio Bremen in Germany 1978. The rest of band are Jorge Dalto (keyboards, piano), Ronnie Foster (keyboards), Stanley Banks (bass) and Dennis Davis (drums).

Do you know that Benson's personal life is not so great as his musical career? It was shadowed by personal tragedies. George has lost three of his seven sons, one to kidney failure, one to crib death, and one to gunshot injuries stemming from a bar fight.
Mohammed Al Fayed, father of Dodi Al Fayed, who died along with his friend Princess Diana of England in a 1997 automobile crash in Paris knew these facts and asked Benson to write a song in commemoration.
It became too difficult for George because of his own losses.
