21-years-old George Benson at the Antibes Jazz Festival

In 1964 George Benson was only 21 years old and he just began his professional career as a jazz guitarist. He learned how to play instrumental jazz during a relationship performing for several years with jazz organist Jack McDuff. In 1964 Benson appeared next to Jack McDuff (organ), Red Holloway (tenor sax) and Joe Dukes (drums) at the Antibes Jazz Festival performin on his 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard George Gershwin's popular song "It Ain't Necessarily So" from the Gershwins' opera Porgy and Bess (1935) .
