An original tune from me, in an effort to evoke the guitar giants of piedmont blues. The “River City” is Liverpool, UK, on the banks of the River Mersey. The two “themes” of the tune are based on two songs that most Liverpudlians would recognise: “the leaving of Liverpool” ( a traditional Irish song) and “Johnny Todd” ( the same, but also the theme from a TV programme and the the to which Everton FC used to enter Goodison Park).
