First Circle is one of most popular pieces by The Pat Metheny Group, written by duet Pat Metheny / Lyle Mays It's also the title of Group's one od most popular albums recorded in 1984 for ECM label. Metheny said about album: "I finally felt like the Group was what I hoped it might be someday.."
"First Circle" has been covered by several multiinstrumentalists and bands, but it was hard to imagine it performed on solo acoustic guitar. But now here we have it, arranged for solo guitar and performed by Dan Spollen, American guitarist, composer, arranger and graphic designer. Dan is pretty prolific artist. He's playing professionally since 1990. Collaborated with YES singer Jon Anderson, wrote music for MTV, The Learning Channel, and The Weather Channel. As a graphic designer and sketch artist, he has been commissioned for advertising campaigns, logo redesigns, and portrait artworks.
