Today Julian Bream celebrates his 80 birthday (born 15 July 1933).
One of the most distinguished classical guitarists of the 20th century was given his first guitar by his father at the age of 11. He made his debut guitar recital in 1947, aged only 13.
During his long career Julian Bream received numerous awards, including six from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, two Edison awards and a platinum disk from RCA. He has produced a number of televised programs, including master classes, an eight-part retrospective on Spanish guitar music.

After 55 years of successful career Bream retired in 2002. His fame and popularity spawned a new generation of classical guitar players.

In this great video Julian is playing beautiful piece by Fernando Sor "Moonlight Etude" Op.35 No.22 in Bm.

Thank you Mr Bream for your music and wish you long and happy life!
