Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song

guitar backing track

Released on Led Zeppelin's third studio album, Led Zeppelin III, and released as a single, Immigrant Song is one of key songs by this famous band. It was written by Robert Plant during Led Zeppelin's tour of Iceland in the summer of 1970. In 1970-1972 Led Zeppelin used to open their live shows with this song. In 2009 "Immigrant Song" was played by Robert Plant and Jeff Beck at the Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Jeff Beck.

Ah-ah, ah!
Ah-ah, ah!

We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun, where the hot springs flow
The hammer of the gods
W'ell drive our ships to new lands
To fight the horde, and sing and cry
Valhalla, I am coming!

On we sweep with threshing oar
Our only goal will be the western shore

Ah-ah, ah!
Ah-ah, ah!

We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow
How soft your fields so green
Can whisper tales of gore
Of how we calmed the tides of war
We are your overlords

On we sweep with threshing oar
Our only goal will be the western shore

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins
For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing

Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh

Artist info

Led Zeppelin Guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist/keyboard player John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham and the most frighteningly exciting hard rock singer Robert Plant redefined the parameters of rock and become the biggest-selling band on the planet. Led Zeppelin's first six albums – from Led Zeppelin to Physical Graffiti – remain by some distance the greatest hard rock records ever made. The death of Bonham in 1980 marked the end of the band as a touring force. Jimmy Page was dabbling with heroin, and John Bonham was an alcoholic.
When remaining members of Led Zeppelin agreed to re-umite for a one-off show in London's O2 in 2007 (with Bonham's son Jason on drums) there were 20 million applications for 20,000 tickets.
