The acoustic guitar is certainly the most favored instrument among learner musicians and is the most famous member of the guitar family. Most frequently played in a finger-picking or strumming style; it has found a staple place in pop, rock, blues, folk, and country songs. The acoustic guitar does not require amplification to produce ideal levels of sound. The rich and vibrant acoustic sounds it provides is generated by its hollow body design. Two types of construction evolved: the flat-top guitar and the arch-top guitar. Martin and Gibson were two of the earliest and most influential American acoustic guitar makers.
