Jazz - Limehouse Blues

"Limehouse Blues" became jazz standard since it was performed by such jazz musicians as Sidney Bechet, Django Reinhardt, Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, Stan Kenton and many more. Originally his is a song written by the London-based duo Philip Braham (music) and Douglas Furber (lyrics) in 1922.
Limehouse is district of east London. In the late 19th and early 20th century it housed Chinatown, until the London West End Chinatown was established. The Chinese references can be heard in both the lyrics and the melody.
