Very special performance of rock guitar legend Jeff Beck performing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" on Later With Jools Holland BBC TV program on May, 2010.
This is incredible that song from The Wizard of Oz written by Harold Arlen in 1939 si still one of most often covered in so many styles, rock, country, classics, on guitar, ukelele, and many more. Also the list or artists who covered the song is imopressing, starting from Jerry Lee Lewis and Patti LaBelle to Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck.

Thank you for getting this version ! It was Jeff's second take of this on 'Later' - he was not happy with his first take, he slapped his forehead twice on that one to signal that he had messed a few details - but this one is so much better!

This is such a fabulous almost unreal performance of this tune, taking the electric guitar into another world entirely. The faces of the other bands after he finishes , speak volumes; They've never heard anything like it before either. Actually, this ued to be on Facebook, and its now gone. Why? It cannot be because of the copyright of the song, as their are zillions of other people performing it . It cannot surely be Jools Holland removing his clips? He has loads of others there, and it surely cannot be Jeff Beck saying to remove it because its sub - standard. So why has it gone? Anyway, whatever the reason, thanks for keeping it on here.

Sounds much better with strings and piano than solo. But this is only one Beck who can sound like this.

very specific tone, typical for Jeff beck only. This is what great artists differ from the rest.
