At first Yamandú was playing folk music from close regions of the south of Brazil, and also of Argentina and Uruguay. But very soon he discovered music of other renowned and popular Brazilian musicians, such as Baden Powell, Tom Jobim, Raphael Rabello, among others.
Now Yamandu Costa is one of the greatest geniuses of Brazilian music. This young misician, composer and arranger does not fit into a single music style. He combines folk brazilian music with typical samba and bossa nova, all with some jazz and pop music influence while playing his 7-string guitar.
Yamandu's name in native language of Brazilian indians, means "the precursor of the waters of the world" . And Yamandu Costa fully dereves this name!
