Whitesnake was formed in London, England in 1977 by by David Coverdale (formerly member of Deep Purple).
The band's early material has been compared to Deep Purple but by the mid 1980s Whitesnake had moved away from the early blues influenced hard rock to a more commercial glam metal. Major band's hits such as “Love Ain’t No Stranger”, “Now You’re Gone”, “Slide It In”, “Still of the Night”, and ‘signature song’ “Here I Go Again” made Whitesnake ne of the most successful and enduring rock bands in the world.
Whitesnake were active primarily in the 80s, but they still tour to this day.
