Originally formed as a quintet in 1970, Weathar Report was jazz-fusion band that combined jazz, rock into a funky and R&B, heavily infuenced by Miles Davis music. The core members of Weather Report were Joe Zawinul (keyboards), Wayne Shorter (sax) and Miroslav Vitouš (bass). Other important members who joined the band are Alphonso Johnson, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Bailey; Peter Erskine, Airto Moreira. signature Weather Report pieces are "Teen Town" and "Birdland", both strongly marked by charismatic bassist Jaco Pastorius.
