Hard rock supergroup, Mr. Big was formed in Los Angeles, in 1988 by of Eric Martin (lead vocals), Paul Gilbert (guitar, backing vocals), Billy Sheehan (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Pat Torpey (drums, percussion, backing vocals). Their debut album was melodic hard rock with dazzling shredding by Paul Gilbert. Second album "Lean Into It" (1991) brough Mr. Big in commercial success. The song "To Be With You" quickly became a massive global hit, going to #1 in 12 countries. In 1999 Richie Kotzen replaced Paul Gilber, but in 2009 Mr. Big reunited with its original line-up. In 2018 2018, drummer Pat Torpey died from complications of Parkinson's disease at the age of 64.
