American punk rock band Green Day was formed in 1986. Breakthrough "Dookie" album was the jewel in the crown of their '90s punk era. In 2004 they hit international success again with a socio-political rock opera "American Idiot", which won 2005 Grammy award for the Best Rock Album . In 2010, a stage adaptation of American Idiot debuted on Broadway. Green Day's Woodstock 1994 gig included a gigantic mud fight between the band and the audience. In 2015, Green Day were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Green Day has sold more than 85 million records worldwide.
