Swedish progressive rock group, Europe achieve international success when they reworked their sound into melodic pop-metal. In 1986, Europe released "The Final Countdown" album. Title song and "Carrie" became Top Ten singles in the U.S. and U.K. After ten years of living, recording, and touring together, Europe decided to take a break at the end of the 1992 tour.
