The Eagles are one of the world's best-selling bands of all time, having sold more than 200 million records. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001. Eagles early sound was a combination of country music and Surf Rock. This is obvious as the future members of Eagles were backup players for Linda Ronstadt before they formed their own group. Overall Eagles sound has been described as "California rock". They broke up in July 1980 but reunited in 1994 and record and tour consistently. The band announced the "Hotel California 2020 Tour" to take place in six cities between February 7 and April 18, 2020.
