Credited in The Guinness Book of World Records as the globe's loudest band, British hard rock band Deep Purple survived endless series of line-up changes and shift from progressive rock to heavy metal. Formed in England, 1968 original line-up featured Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Rod Evans (vocal), bassist Nick Simper (bass), Jon Lord (keyboard), and Ian Paice (drums). Deep Purple have sold over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide. The band was officially inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on 8 April 2016.
