Australian classical guitarist, Stephanie Jones is one of most promising artists of young generation.
From her early age Stephanie was interested in music. First she strted to learn the piano, nest she tried with violin, viola, saxophone and flute.
She started learning the guitar when she was 11 at Wembley Primary School in Perth, Australia.
In 2010, Stephanie was awarded the Royal Schools Anniversary Scholarship and started her studies at the Australian National University under the guidance of Timothy Kain, she graduated with First Class Honours in 2014.
In the meantime she was studying the guitar with the renowned Australian guitarists Timothy Kain and Minh Le Hoang and in 2012 won second prize in the prestigious Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition. In 2014 Stephanie won the National Fine Music Network Young Virtuoso Award, a national competition that attracts the finest young musical talent from across Australia. Same year she was a finalist in the Salzburg International Guitar Festival and in 2017 she won first place in the Hannabach Guitar Competition.
Stephanie has performed extensively around the globe, including two Australian tours, a New Zealand tour, a Germany tour with the Weimar Guitar Quartet.
Stephanie Jones recorded 2 solo albums as far. First “Bach, the Fly, and the Microphone” was released in 2009. In 2015 she launched her first solo CD “Colours of Spain,” featuuring music of Spanish composers like
Luis de Narvaez, Alonso Mudurra, Gaspar Sanz, Joaquín Turina, Isaac Albeniz and Francisco Tarrega.
Stephanie is currently studying a Masters in Classical Guitar Performance with Thomas Müller-Pering at the prestigious University of Music Franz Liszt in Germany.
