Steveie Ray Vaughan Nocaster

Stevie Ray Vaughan's 1951 Fender No-caster (sometimes referred to as a Broadcaster), serial number 41075, known as ‘Jimbo’ - has just sold for $250,000 at Dallas’s Heritage Auctions.
Nocaster was handed down to SRV by his older brother Jimmie in 1966 when Stevie was 12 years of age. Jimmie was one who carved the ‘Jimbo’ on the rear of the guitar. Stevie played Jimbo throughout his early gigs in the late-’60s, He played the guitar in several of his early bands including Southern Distributor, Liberation and Lincoln.
Stevie scratched his own name on the headstock beneath the tuners.

Jimbo No-caster ended up in a Dallas recording studio fro many years after Stevie switched to a red Epiphone in 1971. From 2010 to 2014 at Jimmie Vaughan's request, "Jimbo" was displayed at the The GRAMMY Museum, Los Angeles, 2beside Stevie's iconic Stratocaster, "Number One."

"Jimbo" was previously up for auction in April 2016, but failed to sell. Now it was sold at Heritage Auctions for $250,000 to anonymous fan.
