Grammy winning influential blues songwirter and guitarist, especially appreciated by Eric Clapton. His songs "After Midnight" and "Cocaine" are better known from Eric Clapton's covers. "Call Me the Breeze" was covered by Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Mayer and Johnny Cash.Cale did only few interviews and rarely performed live. He was considered as one of the most unaffected, but highly influential person in music business. In 2008, J.J. Cale and Clapton, received a Grammy Award for their collaboration album The Road to Escondido.
