Today (8th December 2018) it is 38 years since John Lennon was shot in NYC. I remember the day as if it was yesterday. I woke up to the radio telling me he was shot dead on the street in front of the Dakota building he lived in. My world stopped for several minutes and never really took up speed again. Man, do we need his visions for Peace and Love NOW!
John's ashes is spread over Central Park in New York. Every time I am there, I imagine (no pun intended) I breath in a small amount of him. Ridiculous, I know, but true.
"Imagine" is John Lennon's second studio album after his departure from the Beatles. Recorded and released on September 9th. 1971. In this time and age, I personally, think we need Lennon's words and music more than ever! The lyrics encourage the listener to imagine a world at peace without the barriers of borders or the divisions of religion and nationality and to consider the possibility that the whole of humanity would live in peace and respect for our differences.
Shortly before his death, Lennon said that much of the song's "lyric and content" came from his wife Yoko Ono, and in 2017, she received a co-writing credit.
With this arrangement, I would like to honor his music and his strive for world peace and also wish all my friends a peaceful holiday season.
