José Luis Rodríguez is an award-winning flamenco guitarist, composer, and performer whose original compositions and performances blend traditional and experimental instrumentation delivered with an emotional brio that is without parallel. Rodriguez has recorded several classic and experimental albums, accompanied important figures in flamenco song and dance, and composed original scores for dance, film, and performative art installations.

Among his most notable works are compositions created for Ballet Cristina Hoyos, Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, Belen Maya, Juan Carlos Lerida, Ramon Oller and the 2015 collaboration with LA Philharmonic and Maestro Gustavo Dudamel in collaboration with Antonio Canales, Farruquito, Siudy Garrido Company and Argentina in Amor Brujo.

He is also the co-founder of Nu Flamenco Collaborative, Inc., an organization that aims to introduce US audiences to the cultural heritage of flamenco and its emerging artistic expressions.

Rodriguez is currently touring four distinct productions: Espacios Intimos, a flamenco guitar ensemble; Origin and Evolution, a solo performance; Resonancias, an original composition and performance featuring Gustavo Matamoros (electroacoustic live performance, Niurca Marquez (dance), Carla Forte, and Alexey Taran (visual projections); and Old Town by the Sea, a site-specific performative art installation lead by choreographer Niurca Marquez.
