Yusuf Islam reached his fame in the early 1970s as Cat Stevens. His albums Tea for the Tillerman (1970) and Teaser, Firecat (1971) and Catch Bull at Four(1972) were sold in million copies. In 1977 Cat Stevens converted to Islam and adopted the name Yusuf Islam. He left his music career, auctioned all his guitars for charity and devoted himself to educational and philanthropic activity in the Muslim community.
In 2006 he returned to music and after 28 years recorded album "An Other Cup". Three years later in 2009 he released next album "Roadsinger" and began world tour to promote his new album. He toured US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
In 2014 he was was inducted by Art Garfunkel into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his works from the era he performed as Cat Stevens.
Session from this video was recorded for BBC April 2007 to promote Yusuf's 2006 album "An Other Cup". It includes some of most famous songs from the Cat Stevens' era such as Peace Train, Wild World and Father and Son
