Romance by Hungarian guitarist and composer Johann Kaspar Mertz (1806 - 1854) performed by George Vassilev, one of most respected classical guitarists of our time.
Johann Kaspar Mertz was very talented child, always close to music, however he launched his career as a concert guitarist when he was 34 when he moved to Vienna. Mertz usually used a 10-string guitar for concerts and often performed in duo with his wife, pianist Josephine Plantin, whom he married in Prague in 1842.
