Warren Haynes, best known as longtime guitarist for The Allman Brothers Band earned reputation for his guitar skills and style, steeped in blues and Southern rock traditions.
Born in Asheville, North Carolina, Warren got his first guitar when he was 12. Around 14 he was already playing parties at a local pizza parlor. He was big Eric Clapton fan at the time, and studied classic blues sounds that influenced Clapton too. In 1989, Betts and Gregg Allman re-formed the Allman Brothers Band, and Haynes became their guitarist.
For next 8 years Warren was touring and recording with the Allman Brothers, and in 1991 he formed the Warren Haynes Band to play gigs during his time off from the Allmans.
In 1994, Haynes lefte Warren Haynes Band and formed new band Gov't Mule with Allman Brothers bassist Allen Woody and drummer Matt Abts. In 2000 Haynes rejoined the Allman Brothers Band after death of Allen Woody.
Apart or reagular touring and recording for the Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule Warren Haynes had been playing with Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh in his solo group Phil Lesh & Friends.
Meanwhile, in between dates with the Allmans and Gov't Mule, Haynes had been also playing with Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh in his solo group Phil Lesh & Friends.
