Ronny Jordan (born 29 November 1962 in London) is Grammy nominated jazz guitarist, widely regarded as the originator of acid jazz. His first public performances were with gospel groups, but during the early '80s he began to explore other avenues of music, culminating in a fascination with jazz. ROnny is self-taught guitarist, his early influences include such artists as Charlie Christian and Wes Montgomery. Once heard hip-hop music Jordan also started exploring ways to fuse jazz and rap together.
Initially record companies were ignoring Jordan, but this changed once Jordan made cover of the Miles Davis classic "So What", which became a hit. He soon released his debut LP, 1992's Antidote. His 2000 release, A Brighter Day, was nominated for a Grammy award in the Best Contemporary Jazz Album category.
