Grammy-award winning Bluesman, Robert Lockwood Jr. (born in Arkansas in 1915, died November 21, 2006), learned about music early at church and from his mother's boyfriend, legendary bluesman, Robert Johnson. After Johnson was murdered in 1938, Lockwood moved up to Chicago, where he played with blues greats, including Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter, and Eddie Boyd.

When Rock&Roll began to overcome the Chicago jazz scene in 1961, Lockwood moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he has lived ever since. Although raising a family was his priority in the 1960s and 1970s, Lockwood reemerged in the 1980s with his unique electric guitar sound. In 1998, Lockwood won the Grammy Award for his album, "I Got to Find Me a Woman." He won again in 2001 for "Delta Crossroads."

Mr. Lockwood suffered a serious stroke on November 3, 2006 and passed away of respiratory failure on November 21 of that year. His band, Robert Lockwood's All Star Band, continues to perform at Fat Fish Blue and other area venues.
