Philippe Bertaud

Born in the South of France Philippe Bertaud is a virtuoso of the contemporary and classic guitar.
He studied the art of harmony and composition under acclaimed composer Jacques Charpentier and received afterward many musical awards. At just sixteen, he achieved success in early recitals, made his first recording “le Sud” .
The Montreal Jazz Festival performance 1999 was the start of his olo tour in Canada. In 2000, adding shows, radio and TVs interviews Philippe’s career was growing. From 2002 Philippe’s determined passion for Brazil music. With a deep affection for Brazilian culture, Philippe recorded a voice percussion acoustic guitar album with bossa-nova singer Denise Pinaud and followed.nationwide tour.
Philippe plays with equal ease from Haendel to Jimy Hendrix through Leo Brouwer,from Asia to Latin America. He is renowned for his dazzling guitar technique and powerful interpretation.
While touring, he takes time whenever possible to conduct master classes as well as more informal programs for students-musicians and non-musicians alike.
