Born in Villach, Austria (1976), Julia Malischnig studied classical guitar at the University of Music in Vienna by the renowned artist Konrad Ragossnig and continue studying with masters like Oscar Ghiglia, Frank Bungarten, Pepe Romero, Alexander Swete and others.
Once graduated the University of Music in Vienna 2002, she also got the "Appraisal Award” from the Austrian Department for Education, Science and Culture.

Julia Malischnig has composed a number of original pieces and internationally performs a wide variety of music ranging from classical to Tango and Jazz. More and more she is developing her interest on working with other artists in all kinds of genres and on composing her own music.

Julia Malischnig is the initiator and artistic director of the International Guitar Festival La Guitarra in Millstatt, South of Austria.
