Jeff Healey ((March 25, 1966 – March 2, 2008), one of the most distinctive and respected guitar players of our time. Born in Canada, adopted as an infant, he lost his sight to eye cancer when he was only 8 months old.
As a toddler, Healey picked up a guitar and, setting it on his knees, developed a distinct sound and unique playing style.

In 1988, his band released the album See the Light, featuring the hit single "Angel Eyes" and the song "Hideaway", which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
In 1990, a reader poll in Guitar Player magazine named Mr. Healey the best blues guitarist and best new talent.

During the course of his musical career, he shared the stage with such music titans as Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Harrison, B.B. King, ZZ Top, Steve Lukather, Eric Clapton and many more. In 2006, Healey appeared on Deep Purple vocalist Ian Gillan's CD/DVD Gillan's Inn.

He died at age 41 in his home town of Toronto after a battle with lung cancer.
