Ben Bolt
At the beginning of his guitar journey Ben Bolt performed professionally as a leading guitarist in rock bands in Miami. After high school, in the 1970s, he left for Spain to study classical guitar. At the age of 19, he was granted a scholarship paid by maestro Andres Segovia to study at the Musica en Compostela, a summer course founded by Segovia.

In 1974 Ben left Spain and moved to Paris where he met Abel Carlevaro. Carlevaro invited Bolt to study with him under full scholarship at the yearly Master Classes held in Porto Allegre Brazil.
He continued his music studies at the Escuela Normal de Musica in Uruguay under the direction of Italian based composer and conductor Guido Santorsola.

Ben Bolt won first place in the, "Concurso Internacional A.E.M.U.S." in Montevideo Uruguay (1975).
The San Francisco Conservatory of Music invited Ben Bolt to assist maestro Carlevaro in his debut of North America in 1976. Several Ben Bolt instructional books have become a reference for college students concerning classical guitar technique.
