Allan Holdsworth
Allan Holdsworth (born 6 August 1946 in Bradford, Yorkshire), began to play guitar at the age of 17. In the 1970s he worked with progressive rock bands such as Tempest and Gong and also worked with Cream's bass legend Jack Bruce.

In 1972, Holdsworth joined progressive band Tempest, and debuted with band's self-titled album a year later. Soon Allan replaced guitarist John McLaughlin in drummer's Tony Williams Lifetime project in 1975, appearing on Believe It and Million Dollar Legs albums.
In next years Holdsworth was guesting on recordings by Jean-Luc Ponty, Bill Bruford, Gordon Beck, Jack Bruce, UK, and Soft Machine.

In the late '70s, Holdsworth launched a solo career, which over the years has seen the release of 17 albums.
In the mid-'80s, Holdsworth was one of the first musicians to use a Synthaxe, a guitar that proved to be a cross between a synthesizer, guitar, and saxophone.

In the past decade Holdsworth has varied his music career, engineering and inventing electronic sound-processing tools, including The Harness. He has several unique electric guitar designs now produced by Carvin, and has worked with luthier DeLap in conceiving custom baritone and piccolo guitars.

Allan Holdsworth died on 15 April 2017 at the age of 70 and the most possible cause was a heart attack.
