Toto is certainly one of the most versatile bands to ever form. The group was formed by a bunch of veteran studio musicians in 1977 in Los Angeles. Jeff Porcaro, Steve Porcaro, David Paitch and Steve Lukather played on thousands of recordings, before they decided to join forces and make their own music. Toto Sold millions of records and produced classic rock songs like "Hold the Line," "Georgy Porgy," "Africa," and "Rosanna." For that last one, Toto won Record of the Year at the 1983 Grammy Awards, along with Album of the Year for its fourth album, Toto IV. Over the years Toto has released 14 studio albums, and has sold over 40 million records worldwide and received 7 Grammy's. Toto also got award certificates at the 1983 Grammy Awards for performing behind Michael Jackson on 'Beat It' . Steve Lukather and Larry Carlton won a Grammy for for "Best Pop/Instrumental Album" in 2001.
