One of the most renown progressive rock guitar players in the world, grammy-winning, Steve Vai is known for his technical ability and mastery of musical theory. From 1980 to 1983 Vai played in Frank Zappa's band before he embarked on a solo career. He has recorded and toured with Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth, Whitesnake and toured with Joe Satriani's G3 and Experience Hendrix tour. Vai has recorded nine solo albums, including the most successful "Passion and Warfare" (1990). Albums sold estimated number is over 15 million records. In 1986, Vai was cast in the film Crossroads as the Devil's guitar player dueling with Ralph Macchio's Eugene "Lightning" Martone.
